Almost 55 percent of Americans say now is a good time to buy a home, with 36 percent indicating that they are either somewhat likely or very likely to do just that in the next three years, according to Fannie Mae's National Housing Survey 2000.
Among the renters polled, 58 percent believe homeownership is a very important priority; while 18 percent say it is their No. 1 priority.
